Jesus did a 5-loaves-2-fish on me

Those of you who don't know about 5 loaves and 2 fish, read this before you proceed - http://bible.gospelcom.net/passage/?search=Matthew%2014:13-21;&version=31

It was cell group time at OCF and I was leading bible study as per normal.
I printed eight sheets of handouts. I was sure I only printed eight.
Nine people turned up.
I distributed the sheets saying "Ok we're gonna have one handout short, so Mel don't take because Mel's my neighbour and I can pass her a copy later..."
Mel then said "But we each have one what!!!"

Looking around I saw that everyone did have one sheet of paper.

I told them to proceed to answering the questions on the paper - while all the time I gaped in awe not believing my eyes. But there they were. Nine girls, writing their answers on nine pieces of paper, each with their own copy. I counted. I re-counted. Nine. NIne handouts.

Impossible.

Incredible!!

Jesus just did a 5-loaves-2-fish on me!!!!!

Ahhhhhh!!!!

Also by the power of the Holy Spirit I kept calm and just went on leading the bible study. I had to distribute another handout and I only have 8 of that one too. I thought, well Jesus, please do another miracle on this one as well.

Then Huili left the group at that very moment because she was not feeling well and needed to rest.

That leaves me with 8 in the group. Just nice. One each.

I was so amazed.

In fact God so thoroughly amazed me by countless other little miracles (actually, come to think of it, they're huge, and I'd be glad to tell you verbally) that I felt like doing a drama-mama faint should anyone ask me "So Sandra how was OCF for you today?"

Aiyahhhhhh............ GOD IS JUST SO SUPER GOOD LEH!!!!

Ah Ma's Testimony & The Interpreter!

This morning I had one of the most wonderful conversations with mama and Ah Ma (grandma).

Me: Aiyah Ahma... dunno whether can pass my 3rd year... (all these in Hokkien of course)
Ahma: Don't worry! If God brought you all the way to this stage, He will be faithful enough to bring you through to finish!

(Utterly amazed at her great faith which is a little unusual)

Mama: Aiyah Sunsun you must hear Ahma's story. That day after church I left Ahma at the bus stop to take the bus home by herself. (She verrrrry seldom does that so it's quite something!) And then when she got on the bus, it poured very very heavily! So she prayed and aksed God to stop the rain.
Ahma: The moment I reached our bus stop, the rain stopped! So I walked home (takes about 5 mintues) and just a few minutes after I entered the house, the rain started to pour again!!! So Sandra, trust God. He really hears everything! He hears our prayers!

Utterly amazed. Praise God!!!!! :) :) :)

It's time to get bimbotic.

I'm convinced I have found the world's BEST shampoo ever.

Friends near me will know that I have a relentless pursuit of good shampoos and haircare products... (especially during the years when I had long hair and never stopped playing with them...)

Friends, may I introduce you, if you haven't already discovered, my haircare darling:

My hair has never been softer and smoother!!

If you're upset with your hair because it's dry, coarse, tangled, hard to manage, don't look any further. Grab these bright-orange bottles from your nearest convenience stores now.

Don't forget to get the accompanying conditioner. I'll bet it's the most orangey substance you've ever used in the bathroom.

Virus Alert + Thanksgiving!!!

Ok everyone.

I just really, really, really, really wanna THANK THE LORD for His goodness in my life.

Mel was chatting in my room and she was just about to leave, when at the same time I received a MSN msg from a trusted friend that goes something like this

XXX says:
look at this!

XXX says:
http://something.com/pictures.php/email=MYEMAIL@something.com

I clicked on it, it prompted me to download something, I pressed 'save', moved my mouse over just about to click 'Open' when Mel turned back just before the door closed, and then I heard "WAIT wait wait wait wait wait wait a minute Sansan........ that could be a virus."

Because of that I didn't click 'open'.

Later Mel went back to her room to see that the same trusted friend had sent the exact same message with her email there instead of mine.

SCARY!

but you know what?

PRAISE GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This would NOT be the best time to entertain viruses considering my deadline's in less than 48 hours.

Jesus is really, really SOOOOOOOOOO good because Mel turned back just in time. She was just about to leave!!!

And so you have been warned, please be very careful with MSN messages that begin as dodgy as 'Look at this!'.

My favourite psalm

Psalm 103
1 Praise the LORD, I tell myself; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name.
2 Praise the LORD, I tell myself, and never forget the good things he does for me.
3 He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.
4 He ransoms me from death and surrounds me with love and tender mercies.
5 He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle's!
6 The LORD gives righteousness and justice to all who are treated unfairly.
7 He revealed his character to Moses and his deeds to the people of Israel.
8 The LORD is merciful and gracious; he is slow to get angry and full of unfailing love.
9 He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever.
10 He has not punished us for all our sins, nor does he deal with us as we deserve.
11 For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth.
12 He has removed our rebellious acts as far away from us as the east is from the west.
13 The LORD is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.
14 For he understands how weak we are; he knows we are only dust.
15 Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die.
16 The wind blows, and we are gone-- as though we had never been here.
17 But the love of the LORD remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children's children
18 of those who are faithful to his covenant, of those who obey his commandments!
19 The LORD has made the heavens his throne; from there he rules over everything.
20 Praise the LORD, you angels of his, you mighty creatures who carry out his plans, listening for each of his commands.
21 Yes, praise the LORD, you armies of angels who serve him and do his will!
22 Praise the LORD, everything he has created, everywhere in his kingdom. As for me--I, too, will praise the LORD.

The Spice Of Life

Went to The Spice Of Life to listen to live blues music, free of charge. It's just next to the Woman In White theatre at Cambridge Circus. Absolutely shiok. Entertaining the thought of going up there for a gig or two. (gulp) Some photos to share with you. :)

Check out http://www.spiceoflifesoho.com/music.htm

This is the really cool drummer who didn't wanna stop playing.

Any Tom, Dick or Mary can just come up and sing.

blues night

Cell :)

I just came back a really swell time at leaders' cell at mark's. It was just wonderful being with these dear characters God's placed in my life to walk this journey together. Love to worship God with them. Think we're all harmonising so much for God when we sing those lovely worship songs cos we cannot tahan... must give God more!! : ) And today Jillian sang 2 songs she composed which are very very very well-written!! Jills, please pass me lyrics! What a wonderful composing anointing she has!

During cell we watched an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING sermon - Deliverance from Sadness, Depression and Loss of Hope. If there's anything you'd ever thank me for, even if I don't know you and you're just reading my blog by chance, please just click on the link and watch it. I was sooooooooo ministered by Pastor Colin through the sermon. Thank You Jesus for technology!

What is the rock?

What a timely reminder by the Holy Spirit as I was spending quiet time with the Lord.

I'm gonna stand on the Rock
I'm gonna stand on the Rock
I'm gonna stand on the Rock
On God's Word

I'm gonna try to obey
I'm gonna try to obey
I'm gonna try to obey

Obey God's Word

On God's Word, my house will stand tall
Without God's Word, my house will fall!

A little children's song we sang in my mission trip to the Philippines reminded me of the most foundational truths... Just take a 2nd look at the lyrics. They make so much sense.

No wonder I've been 'falling', or faltering. I haven't been still enough to sit down and read God's Word.

And God's teaching me that again. Starting this morning.

Lord, may You still my heart, and the reader's heart, to read Your Word, that our house will stand tall, as we try to obey Your Word. Amen.

Share some good stuff with you

1. Just watched a fantastic sermon by dear pastor Colin Dye - Standards: How should I live? Click to watch.

2. If you feel guilty about anything at all, I believe the article below from Purpose-Driven Life daily devotionals will minister to you, just as it ministered to me.

Thumbs Up
by John Fischer

This year I attended an Easter sunrise service on the beach near where I live. The pastor began her sermon with a story about a 12 year-old boy who lost his father in a horrible traffic accident. A week prior to the accident, the boy and his dad had been horsing around and the boy accidentally hurt his father’s thumb. Now, with his father dead, he couldn’t get over his guilt about that thumb. In a counseling session with his pastor, the deal about his dad’s thumb came up. His pastor, sensing the boy’s torment, got up out of his chair came around his desk and with tears in his eyes knelt down where he could look the boy in the eye and said, "If your father could be here in this room right now for just five minutes, what do you think he would say about this?”

The boy thought for a minute and said, “He would tell me to forget about it.”
Guilt has a good side. It is the thing that tells us we messed up. We feel guilty because we are guilty. But guilt has a bad side too — lots of bad sides, actually. We can hold on to it long after we’ve been forgiven. Why would anyone want to hold onto their guilt when they didn’t have to?
I can think of three reasons right now. It can be an excuse for inaction — a reason not to grow and accept responsibility for our mistakes and move on. We can incapacitate ourselves over our guilt and not have to do anything.

Or sometimes we think we can make ourselves feel better about our mistakes if we pay for them. In the case of this story, the boy was paying for his father’s death with his own guilt. In his mind, the accident was his fault. If he hadn’t hurt his dad’s thumb, none of this would have happened. We know there is no connection between these events, but a child doesn’t. The child is simply trying to do something with his pain by making it his fault.

Probably the worst reason we hold onto our guilt is because we don’t want to stop sinning. This is one of Satan’s most effective tools against us. He kicks us when we’re down. He knows if he can keep us feeling bad about ourselves, we’ll never get up; we’ll just stay in the sin-guilt-sin-guilt cycle and never get out.

Like the pastor coming from behind his desk, Jesus comes out of a tomb where He paid for our sins and says about our guilt, “Forget about it; I already took care of everything. Get up and keep moving. I’ve even given you my Spirit to confirm everything in your heart and help you walk in the power of my forgiveness.
